Initially, the plan was to import a specific beer from Germany. This turned out not to be possible yet. The plan changed when the war in Ukraine broke out. We feel involved with the suffering that the Ukrainian people have been inflicted by the Russian regime since 2014 and certainly since the Russian invasion of February 24, 2022. On July 20, 2023, Joost saw the 8 o’clock news on Dutch TV. During that broadcast, a Dutch correspondent interviewed Nataliia Masliuk of MOVA beer from Dnipro, Ukraine. MOVA beer is having a hard time under the current circumstances, but despite everything they have the ambition to export their beer to the Netherlands as well.
After the news broadcast, we contacted Nataliia Masliuk and asked her if we could import MOVA beer for them in the Netherlands. From that moment on, we have been in close contact with the MOVA beer team. In the months that followed, we worked together with MOVA beer to overcome all logistical and administrative challenges. Brabant Brew Imports is now ready to sell MOVA beer in the Netherlands. Importing MOVA beer is not only a business venture, but also a way to show solidarity with Ukraine.
